The Gold Standard

Posted on August 23rd, 2011.

If you happen to be heavily invested in shares then events over the last couple weeks may well have been a little unnerving for you. We have seen significant stock market gyrations, banking and currency crisis and a little local unrest thrown in for good measure.   As the western economies have spluttered and choked on their debt diet in recent years, many people are asking themselves where to put their hard earned money to get a good return. The answer for many of these people has been to invest in gold, which is why the price of gold has risen sharply in recent months. Nevertheless, there is a surer safer haven to invest in, one who’s value will not diminish when the golden bubble bursts. Continue Reading »

Metaphorically Speaking

Posted on July 23rd, 2011.

One of things that I love about NLP is that we use, explore and we teach using metaphors. Metaphors are stories, stories with a meaning. The meanings can be fairly obvious or even a little deeper so that the significance of them only bubbles into your conscious mind at some later date. People of all ages have used the power of metaphors to teach, to inspire, to entertain and to prise open the locked cabinet of the conscious mind placing within it the seed of deeper understanding. All The Small Things

Posted on June 29th, 2011.

We often mark our progress through life with big events births, deaths and marriages. Yet the value in life is more often in the small things, a look, a smile, a gift, a gesture, a touch, a phone call, a text or just a kind word. These things can be the things which make the biggest difference to how we feel. And sometimes Continue Reading »

It’s A Question Of Ethics

Posted on May 28th, 2011.

The stench of corruption, the whiff of double standards and the slightly odd aroma of secrecy has wafted through our media over the past few weeks. So how does one set ones moral compass in the modern world, what is acceptable and what is not, who is your moral guide and where do you plant your moral standard. Most people will adopt a black and white position, which they shift as circumstances change. Personally I think that we need to start this debate by firstly recognising that we live in a strongly dichotomous world; how do you know what good is, unless you also know what bad is. Once you start with that you can then ask yourself what is it that I prefer. Then express what it is that you prefer to experience in your life; Continue Reading »

Personal Development Just Got Personal

Posted on April 14th, 2011.

When the drive and energy from your motivational seminar runs out how do you keep yourself going? Are you already following the seven habits or awoken the giant, you may even know about ‘the secret’ and yet still your life isn’t quite the way that you want it to be.  So why is that?

Well, the answers can be found within yourself, and the change needs to come from a result of re-wiring your thinking.  This re-wiring then impacts our behaviour, it can delete or replace old unwanted patterns and strategies which in turn will change your life.    As many people have said before “Change is the only constant” we learn, we grow and through that process we change.  These are the sorts of changes that you can get on our Fastrak NLP Practitioner trainings

How Do You Know To Be You?

Posted on March 3rd, 2011.

In NLP we work with some simple models to understand whats going on with people (internal & external behaviuors).  This allows you to communicate better with others, so that you can overcome your own limitations and so that you can help others to do the same.  Here are some of those -

Conscious/Unconscious

We work with the assumptions that you have a conscious mind and also an unconscious mind.  Basically your unconscious mind is dealing with anything that right now you are not paying conscious attention to.  Until I mentioned it, you probably weren’t aware of the feeling of your legs against the chair or your back against the chair.  If I asked you what your home phone number is where was that number before I asked you.  We assume that your unconscious mind stores and organises all of your memories and is responsible for the behaviour that you produce.  If I asked you to raise your hand in the air you might make a conscious decision to raise it but it would be your unconscious that actually raises your arm in the air.   How many times have you driven somewhere without consciously remembering exactly how you got there.  One thing that NLP allows you to do is to align your conscious and your unconscious mind so that you can get where you want to go in life.

Keep The Change

Posted on February 28th, 2011.

Sometimes I find it difficult to explain to others just how much they can change by doing one of our trainings, because if I did you probably wouldn’t believe me. And at the end of the day the best way to find out is to experience it for yourself anyway. It is not uncommon for people to say that after they have been on the training their friends and family say that look different. Other people have got new jobs or a promotion using what they learn on the training. Some people embark on new careers completely; for some that can be as a NLP Trainer or an NLP Master Coach or setting up a new business doing what they have always wanted to do. NLP gives you the tools to create that change, believe in yourself and be successful; there is no secret to success that you won’t learn doing our NLP training.

To create the sort of positive change that you want in your life now is as easy as this:-

GROW – New Wealth

Posted on January 27th, 2011.

It tends to be at this time of year that many of us take stock of our lives, plan for the year ahead and set goals; so if I said lets plant the seeds for growing New Wealth, my guess is that you would be up for that. But what is New Wealth. The richness that you have in life isn’t only measured in pounds shillings and pence. There is certainly nothing wrong with financial wealth and just like experience, it’s not how much you have but what you do with it that counts; more on financial wealth in a moment. Learning To Fish

Posted on November 24th, 2010.

One of the unique things about life is that you tend to get the test first and the lesson afterwards, not the other way round.  It is often the lessons that we learn for ourselves that stick with us, the lessons we really remember.  If you pause for a moment and look back at your life, think about what you have achieved, identify your successes and I’m sure through that process you will pinpoint the opportunities of learning that have been presented to you over the years.  So give yourself some credit, and give yourself a pat on the back.  Now looking forward, what else do you want to achieve, what do you want to do, and who do you want to do it with? Ask yourself what skills and resources you can draw upon to get there and who will be there with you standing by your side, guiding you on the path?  For many of us the main resource we carry will be ourselves, our experiences and our learnings thus far on this life journey.   Sometimes that is enough, and sometimes it isn’t. Incomplete Waste of Time

Posted on October 24th, 2010.

If I were to ask you how effective do you think you are in your life right now, how would you rate that out of 10?  With 10 being so effective you are burning up the tasks of daily living and achieving all your goals with alacrity and 0 being, that you haven’t even opened this email.

Now I’m certainly not going to suggest that you should be at 10 all the time in your life.  In fact if you got 70% in test at school my guess is that you would, quite rightly, feel pleased with yourself.  So a score of over 6 is OK right?  No matter what your score is, ask yourself now how many things do you have in your life that you haven’t completed or how many things you have in your life that you want to start and haven’t yet made time to begin?
