As you read this, wherever you are, I know you are wondering about time. Where is it all going? Feels like entire months go by in the blink of an eye these days! Can you feel it? People are, all over the world, in every country. So, what is going on?
Let’s start at the beginning: the idea that linear time is stable, dependable, and that its rate can never change used to be pretty universal. But nowadays we know that time is linked to space. And the faster we move through it, the faster we move through time as well. In 1971, this theory was verified when scientists flew four atomic clocks on commercial jets around the world, and compared them to clocks on the ground. The flying clocks were predicted to lose 40 nanoseconds going east, and gain 275 nanoseconds going west. They did. This goes to show that linear time is only ever a measurement of the rate of change in our own experience. So, as we go about our daily lives, in 2017, on planet Earth, people are taking notice that something is happening. They exclaim, “Where did the time go?! Things are moving so fast!” And some people feel puzzled, and even dismayed by this. Ever been on a fast train, which makes everything seem like a blur outside the window? It’s not nice when your entire world appears fuzzy. Some people would even describe it as feeling out of control, a sense that change is happening too fast to grasp. But remember how you can freeze the picture, by simply focusing on a spot outside the window, following it with your eyes, and keeping your attention on it? So hold on to the change, give yourself over to it. People can. And it is more or less the right thing to do at this time.
The rate of change is not the only thing to consider. Because there doesn’t seem to be much good happening out there right now. We are building walls; blowing each other up; getting stressed out in our daily lives. Of course, the opposite is also happening. But on the surface, it doesn’t look like we are changing for the better. Notice though that the idea that a whole bunch of negative stuff is occurring, and too fast for us to do anything about it, is simply that: an idea. In Coaching we often say that the closer you get to your goal, the more you may experience old fears, and obsolete beliefs from the past, rising up in a very intense way. All these limiting beliefs and outdated ways of looking at the world are making a last stand because they feel threatened. So, be aware that what is taking place in the world right now, which may seem like a combination of all the stuff you do not prefer, is actually just a reflection of everything we are choosing to leave behind. It makes sense that it would show up right now, on a global level, just as we are reaching a turning point in our human evolution. So, you can decide to feel overwhelmed by what is going on, or you can choose to notice it, but not be personally affected by it. Because you see it for what it is, of course. Focus is key at this point. Keep moving forward. Be the essence of the future you prefer. It is entirely possible for you to create your own little bubble of reality out there. Anchor yourself in the one of your choice. Might feel like a crazy idea, but trust me, you will not be on your own there.
We, as consciousness, come into this world to enjoy a human experience as part of a collective. We have chosen to be here at this time, facing those particular challenges, TOGETHER. The opportunity we are presented with is a unique, once-in-a-civilisation event. We can choose now to create a different kind of human experience. It won’t be about grabbing pizza and beer from Tesco’s on a Friday night, and collapsing in front of the TV to watch some stupid game show (although that was fun, once upon a time.) But now we are ready to start operating from a higher level. And of course, to interact with others, and each other, on a sparkling new order of awareness. That is the change everyone has been sensing happening. It is going to be out-of-this-world exciting, spirited, and vibrant! A giant leap of tremendous magnitude for humanity, similar to evolution from Neanderthals to Homo Sapiens. And, like I said before in some other blogs, the best way to bring it about is to become it. Create the transformation, right now. Become a new human, right now. Engineer a new collective, right now. This is not for everyone of course; not everybody wants to go there. But I would hazard a guess that if you are reading this, there is a reason.
So, get excited, and let’s do this thing.
